Rose

I wanted to create another 3D robot after I had so much fun with creating my first original character. Similar to the first design, I was inspired by gemstones (more specifically, Rose Quartz in this project) and used it to create another robot.

First, I sketched out the design and then scanned the sketch using Adobe Scanner. I imported the image in Maya and 3D modeled the objects. After 3D modeling, I used Hypershade (Occlusion and Lambert) for the materials. I wanted Rose (the name of the character) to be a contrast from Opal in terms of colors and materials. Rose's material is matt compared to Opal's, which is shiny and reflective. I 3d modeled a heart this time on the chest to show that the gemstone inside is giving energy to her parts.

I enjoy the whole process, especially since it's not related to school and it was overall fun!
