Praying Under the Neon Lights

“Praying Under the Neon Lights” shows calmness on the girl’s face and her hands folded as if she was praying. I was raised in a religious household and was taught to always be calm, composed, and never expressed emotions. It’s a struggle for me to express my emotions properly, unless it’s through my art. The neon lights represent how I’m feeling inside: wanting to shine and to not feel afraid. I want to be myself without feeling afraid or feeling like I’m too much. The phrase “I was born to dance” (from the song "Puppet" by Faouzia) inspired me to create this vector illustration.
